Friendly and professional service from Alan the electrical engineer. Replaced under cabinet lights in kitchen and replaced outdated PIR outside light. Clean, tidy workmanship and respectful of my property. Also spotted an issue with current fuse box which is now outdated and sent a comprehensive quote for replacement at later date. I was very happy with the care and quality of work today. Plus I was impressed with the customer service from Jordan with great communications from start to finish. Thank you!

I was quoted over £200 for a small job that ultimately cost me £80 using another electrician, but that's not what my 1 star review is for - if MJP Electrical Services want to extort customers that's up to them and I'm sure their customer base will respond accordingly. The 1 star is because I've subsequently received a reminder by both email and SMS every single day for last week badgering me to accept their quote!!

Great service from MJP in the Withywood area. They provided all the information via email and worked with me to determine the best options for what I needed. I had a new fuse board installed, 2 new sockets and all other sockets brought up to safety standard for a reasonable price. They also performed an EICR inspection and booked me in within a few days. Our electrician Daniel was very friendly and completed everything in one day and cleaned up afterward. Fantastic job all round. I would use their service again and recommend them. Edit: I returned to MJP after one of my light bulbs ripped off leaving exposed wires. They came out on the same day as an emergency to fix it. Once again, great work I would recommend

Electrical Refurbishment Experts in Blaenavon

Compliant Electrical Refurbishments with MJP Electrical

While electrical refurbishment is a critical task everywhere, MJP Electrical offers dedicated, localised expertise right here in Blaenavon. We are proud to serve businesses and property owners, transforming buildings in Blaenavon, understanding the unique architectural styles and commercial demands of the location.

You’ve probably heard that outdated wiring is the fastest way to stall a renovation project before it even gets off the ground. When you are tackling Refurbishments (Office & Retail) in Blaenavon, the goal is usually to create a seamless flow for staff and customers alike, which means the electricity needs to work invisibly. If you’re trying to move into a new space or overhaul an existing shopfront, the last thing you want to deal with is a trip to the site to find out your current infrastructure can’t handle the new layout.

To make this work, it helps to look at the load requirements of modern commercial hardware. From smart lighting controls in a retail unit to high-demand server setups in a back-office area, every square foot of your renovation needs a dedicated plan. As a NICEIC Electrician, our role is to bridge the gap between your aesthetic vision and the technical reality of the building. We focus on ensuring that the distribution of power is balanced and efficient, preventing hot spots and ensuring that your new equipment doesn’t constantly pull on a struggling system.

This area tends to be shaped by older structures that might require a bit more TLC during a heavy refit. Rather than just slapping new switches over old cables, we take a practical approach to the core of the property. We look at the full circuit integrity to ensure that every light, socket, and piece of machinery is safely connected and compliant with current standards.

If you’re aiming to do this well, you need a partner who understands that downtime equals lost revenue. We help manage the complexities of commercial refits by providing clear pricing and tidy workmanship that respects your timeline. By coordinating the electrical overhaul as a core part of your refurbishment, we ensure that once you open your doors to the public or your team, everything just works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions here

An electrical refurbishment goes beyond simple repairs, involving a comprehensive upgrade or overhaul of your property’s existing electrical system. This can include replacing outdated wiring, upgrading your consumer unit, installing new lighting designs, adding extra sockets, and integrating modern smart home technologies. It’s often undertaken during larger property renovations to bring the electrical system up to current safety standards and meet new functional demands.

You should consider an electrical refurbishment if your property is undergoing a significant renovation, if its electrical system is old (e.g., over 25-30 years), if you’re experiencing frequent electrical issues like tripping circuits, or if you need to support a higher electrical load for new appliances or technologies. Properties with outdated wiring, particularly in older areas like Bath and Bristol, often benefit significantly from a full refurbishment.

Absolutely. All MJP Electrical electricians are highly qualified, experienced, and NICEIC registered, making them fully competent to handle complex electrical refurbishments. Our certification ensures that all work complies with the latest BS 7671 wiring regulations and industry best practices, guaranteeing a safe and compliant upgraded electrical system for your property.

MJP Electrical provides professional electrical refurbishment services across the entire South West of England. Our skilled teams are available to undertake projects in Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire, South Wales, and Swindon, offering expert solutions for both residential and commercial properties looking to modernise their electrical infrastructure.

The duration of an electrical refurbishment varies significantly based on the size of the property, the extent of the existing electrical system, and the scope of work required. A minor refurbishment might take a few days, while a full property overhaul could take several weeks. We’ll provide a detailed timeline during the planning phase, ensuring minimal disruption.

In most cases, an electrical refurbishment will require temporary power shutdowns for safety reasons. However, our experienced electricians will plan the work meticulously to minimise disruption, often working in stages and communicating clearly about expected outages. We aim to restore power as quickly and safely as possible each day.

The cost of an electrical refurbishment is highly dependent on the project’s specifics, including property size, the complexity of the electrical system, and materials chosen. We provide detailed, transparent quotations after an initial assessment of your property and discussion of your requirements. For more general upgrades, you might also consider consumer unit replacement which can be a key part of any refurbishment project.

Yes, a crucial part of any electrical refurbishment by MJP Electrical includes thorough testing and certification upon completion. We ensure that your newly refurbished electrical system is fully compliant with all current safety regulations and issue all necessary documentation, giving you complete peace of mind and demonstrating the safety and quality of our work.
